The notification of the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2025 is expected to be released by the UPBEB in May 2025, those who are interested in getting appointed as primary and upper-primary teachers in the government schools of the state are eagerly waiting for the release of the notification of this exam.
The
exam is conducted at two levels, first level i.e. Paper 1 is for Primary Teachers i.e. classes 1-5, second level i.e. Paper 2 is for Upper Primary Teacher i.e. classes 6-8. UPTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
One who is interested in sitting in the UPTET 2025 for the Paper 1 or Paper 2 may go through the listed points to check that he or she is eligible to participate in the exam or not.
- Paper 1: The aspirant must have passed the Intermediate exam from a school recognised by the UPMSP, Prayagraj or CBSE, New Delhi. Additionally, he or she must have completed a two-year DElEd or four-year BElEd from an institution recognized by the NCTE.
- Paper 2: A candidate must have pursued a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a school recognised by the UGC. Additionally, the student must have pursued a two-year DElEd or BEd from a NCTE-recognised institution.
Candidates who have pursued a four-year BA-BEd or BSc-BEd from an institution recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education may apply for the Paper 2. The age of candidate shouldn’t be 18 years and above 35 years, age relaxation is applicable as per Government of Uttar Pradesh rules.

The UPTET 2025 will be held in offline mode using the OMR Sheets, it is going to be held with an exam time duration of 02 hours and 30 minutes. A total number 150 MCQs will be asked in Paper 1 and Paper 2 from the following sections:

Each question in the Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be of 1 mark, no mark is going to be deducted for the incorrect response. The medium of exam will be English and Hindi, individuals who belong to PH category will get an extra timing of 50 minutes incase of having a scribe.
How to apply for the UPTET 2025 Paper 1 or Paper 2?
The steps to apply for the UPTET 2025 are available below, it consists of two stages: Registration and Application.
Registration:
- Firstly, the candidate will have to visit the official website of the UP DElEd, which is https://updeled.gov.in/.
- Find an option that reads ‘UP Teacher Eligibility Test,’ click on it and get redirected to the next page.
- Look for an option that reads ‘New Registration – UP TET 2025,’ and get redirected to the next page.
- Here, you need to provide the Email Address, Mobile Number, Basic Information, and others and hit the Submit button to receive the OTP on mobile number and password.
- Lastly, you have to enter the One-time Password and hit the Submit button to complete the registration process.
Application
- After the successful registration, you need to login with User ID and Password to access the dashboard.
- Here, you have to fill in the educational qualification details, choose Paper(s) and provide additional details to go to the next webpage.
- Now, you will be asked to attach a photograph, signature required documents’ scan copy as PDF, each one’s size should be upto 100 kb.
- Lastly, you need to pay the application fee of ₹600, ₹400 or ₹100 for one paper (for two papers, one needs to pay 2x), if you belong to UR/OBC, SC/ST or PH, respectively.
UPTET 2025 Passing Criteria
The passing criteria for the UPTET 2025 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is disclosed by the UPBEB, a candidate is required to get 60% score i.e. 90 marks out of 150. Individuals who belong to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Class, Ex-Servicemen, and Physically Handicapped category candidates need only 55% score.
