Purpose of RTPS Bihar Online Application
Traditionally, obtaining essential certificates like income, caste, and residence from government offices involved lengthy and time-consuming procedures. To address these inefficiencies, the state government has launched this online platform. This facility allows residents to apply for these certificates from the convenience of their homes, eliminating the need for repeated visits to offices and reducing long waiting hours. This significantly saves time and effort for the public.
RTPS Bihar Important Information
- An individual’s caste is determined by their father’s caste, not their husband’s.
- The validity of a Caste Certificate is permanent.
- A Permanent Residence Certificate is valid indefinitely. However, a Temporary Residence Certificate is valid for one year from the date of issue.
- An Income Certificate is valid for one year from the date of issue.
- Original certificates will be returned to applicants after verification.
- For those seeking a Non-Creamy Layer certificate, an undertaking in the prescribed format can be submitted. Based on this, a new certificate can be issued using the old one without repeatedly obtaining a new Non-Creamy Layer certificate. For state services, an application can be submitted with an old certificate along with an undertaking.
RTPS Bihar Apply Online Method
- Visit the official website: serviceonline.bihar.gov.in.
- New Users: Create a Login ID and Password by selecting “Register Yourself.”
- Log in to the portal and select the relevant department’s linked service from the left menu.
- Click on “Apply for Service” from the left menu.
- Carefully fill out the application form. You can upload your photo via Webcam or File Browser.
- Make any necessary corrections and click “Save Draft.”
- Verification:
- (a) If the service requires an Aadhaar number, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with the applicant’s Aadhaar for verification.
- (b) Alternatively, upload one of the 12 identification documents approved by the Election Commission of India.
- If required for the specific service, attach the necessary annexures by clicking “Attach.”
- Review the application form and annexure list carefully, and make any required corrections.
- Submit the application and download/print the acknowledgment receipt.
- Once the certificate is issued, it will be available in your inbox on the website. You can log in to download and print your certificate.
How To Download RTPS Bihar Certificate
- Visit the official RTPS Bihar website.
- On the homepage, navigate to the “Citizen Section” on the right-hand side and click on the link titled “Download Certificate.”
- You will be redirected to the RTPS Download Certificate page.
- From the drop-down menu, choose “RTPS/Others” under Services.
- Enter your Application Ref. Number (e.g., BICCO/2021/0000) and Applicant Name (in English).
- Click on the “Download Certificate” button to retrieve your certificate from the RTPS server.
Note: Ensure you attempt to download your certificate at least 24 hours after the execution of your application.

- On the homepage, under the “Citizen Section” on the right-hand side, click the link labeled “Track Application Status.”
- You will be directed to the Track Application Status page.
- Choose your preferred tracking method: by Application Reference Number or by OTP/Application Details.
- If you select “Application Reference Number,” enter it accurately and choose to track via Application Submission Date or Application Delivery Date.
- Type the Word Verification Code shown on the page correctly.
- Click the “Submit” button to view the status of your application.
