Note: UR=Unreserved, SC=Scheduled Caste, ST=Scheduled Tribe, OBC-NCL=Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS=Economically Weaker Section, PwBD=Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (LV-Low Vision, HH-Hard of Hearing, OI-Orthopedically Impaired, MD-Multiple Disabilities).
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
- Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Naval Architecture, Robotics: Full-time B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution with a minimum of 60% marks or First Class (or equivalent CGPA). Integrated 5-year post-graduate courses after 10+2 are also eligible.
- Finance: Graduate with a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI or Cost Accountant (ICMA) from ICMAI.
- Final Year Students: Candidates in their final year can apply if they have secured at least 60% aggregate marks till the last semester, provided they complete their degree with the required percentage before joining.
- CGPA Conversion: Where CGPA/OGPA/CPI is awarded, candidates must provide a certificate from their institute/university converting it to an equivalent percentage.
Age Limit (as on 31st July 2025)
- Maximum Age: 28 years for UR/EWS, 31 years for OBC-NCL, 33 years for SC/ST.
- Relaxation: Additional relaxation for PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India guidelines; internal candidates may get further relaxation as per GSL rules.
Pay Scale and Benefits
- During Training: Basic pay of ₹40,000/month + DA (49%), HRA (18% at Goa), perks & allowances (35%), with a CTC of ₹11.65 LPA.
- Post-Absorption (Assistant Manager, E-1): Pay scale of ₹40,000–3%–₹1,40,000 with one increment, CTC of ₹15.40 LPA.
- Benefits: Contributory Medical Insurance (OPD & Hospitalization), Accident Insurance, and welfare items as per GSL policy.
- Security Deposit: 20% of Basic Pay + DA for 2 years, deducted monthly, refundable with bank interest after 3 years of service (including training), forfeited if the trainee leaves earlier.
Selection Process
- Written Test: 85 marks (60 marks Discipline Knowledge, 25 marks General Management Aptitude Test), 60 minutes, bilingual (English/Hindi), objective type.
- Shortlisting: 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD to qualify for Document Verification and Interview.
- Interview: 15 marks, qualifying marks 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD.
- Final Selection: Based on aggregate marks in written test and interview, following reservation guidelines; ties resolved by age seniority.
