The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh held Polytechnic Entrance Examination once in a year to provide admission for the diploma and polytechnic courses at the government and private institutions across the state.

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria to apply for the JEECUP 2026 are made public. Refer to the table below to check if you are eligible to participate in this entrance exam.

  • You are an Indian citizen and you live in Uttar Pradesh,
  • You must be at least 14 years old as of July 1, 2026, and 
  • You have passed the Class 10 or 12 Exam from a school recognised by the CBSE/UPMSP. 

The course-wise educational qualification are made public, they are:

A Diploma in Engineering & Technology Class 10 passed with minimum 35% marks
B Agricultural Engineering Class 10 with 35% marks, or Intermediate with Agriculture.
C Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Home Science, Textile Design Class 10 passed.
D Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice Class 12 with Hindi & English.
Library & Information Science Class 12 passed.
E Diploma in Pharmacy Class 12 with PCM / PCB (Botany and Zoology mandatory, if Biology).
F PG Diploma in Biotechnology (Tissue Culture) B.Sc with Biology and Chemistry of Biochemistry
G PG Diploma (Various Specialisations) UG Degree in any stream.
H Hotel Management & Catering Technology Class 10 passed.
I Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) 12th Science, or 10th + 2-year ITI.
AME (Avionics / Helicopter / Powerplants) 12th Science, or 10th + 2-year ITI.
K (Lateral Entry) Engineering Diploma (2nd Year) ITI + 12th, or 12th Science (Technical or Vocational).
L Post Diploma in Industrial Safety Diploma, B.Sc (Physics of Chemistry), or B.E/B.Tech + 2 years experience.

Application Fee

In order to apply for the JEECUP 2026, it is mandatory that you pay the application fee. If you belong to UR or OBC, you need to deposit ₹300; for the SC and ST candidates, it is ₹200.

Ensure that you deposit the application fee by the due date, you can pay it using the debit card, credit card, NET banking or UPI. With the payment of the application fee you can apply for this exam.

Exam Pattern 

The JEECUP will conduct this entrance exam in online mode with an exam time duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes, in which there will be a total number 100 objective-type questions. Refer to table below for questions distribution:

Each question carries a weightage of 4 marks, and there is no provision of negative marking. The medium of the exam will be English and Hindi.
