The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations conducts the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test to provide admission for BTech and BE programmes at various institutions of the UT.

Every year lakh of students across Jammu and Kashmir participate in the JKCET to get admission for the Bachelor’s of Engineering and Bachelor’s of Technology in the government and private institutions of the Union Territory of J&K. 

In 2026, the JKCET will be held at the JKBOPEE across the UT and lakhs of aspirants are likely to participate in it. Read this article to check the important dates, eligibility criteria, application fee, exam pattern, and much more.

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria to apply for the JKCET 2026 are made public, refer to table below for all details.

  • You are a Indian citizen and reside in UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • You have passed the Class 12 Exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

There is no age limit to participate in the JKCET 2026. Students who are going to participate in the Class 12 Exam in 2026 can also apply for this entrance exam.

Application Fee

The payment of the application fee is mandatory to apply for the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test. To submit an online application form, you need to deposit 1,200 rupees.

Make sure you deposit the required amount by the due date, otherwise you won’t be able to apply. The payment method available for deposit the required fee are debit card, credit card, NET banking, and UPI.

Exam Pattern 

The JKBOPEE will conduct the JKCET 2026 in offline mode using the OMR sheet, it will take place with a time duration of 3 hours. There will be a total number of 60 objective-type question from three different subjects, they are as follows:

Each question carries a weightage of 1 mark, and 0.25 mark is going to be deducted for incorrect response. The medium of the exam is English.

  • Go to the official website of JKBOPEE by visiting at https://jkbopee.gov.in/.
  • Find and click on the option that reads ‘JKCET 2026’.
  • Tap on the New Registration button.
  • Fill in your full name, mobile number, email address, and other details accurately, and click the Submit button.
  • Verify for mobile number and email address, and get login credentials.
  • Login to access the application form, and then provide all the details by crosschecking.
  • Upload documents with photograph and signature, and then deposit the application fee. 
  • Review all the details you have provided, and click on the Submit button to apply online.
