About the Exam:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Combined Defence Service Exam (CDS) annually. Lakhs of candidates participate in this exam to secure a commission in the Indian Armed Forces. The CDS I 2024 exam is now open for applications, with the online application process starting on 20 December 2023.

- Indian Military Academy (IMA): 100 Posts
- Indian Naval Academy (INA): 32 Posts
- Air Force Academy: 32 Posts
- Officers Training Academy (OTA): 275 Posts
- Officers Training Academy (OTA) Women: 18 Posts

Eligibility:
- Only Unmarried candidates can apply.
Educational Qualifications:
- Indian Military Academy/Officers Training Academy: Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized University/Institution.
- Air Force Academy: Graduation Degree in Physics & Maths at 10+2 Level/Bachelor of Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- Indian Naval Academy: Engineering Degree in a relevant trade from a recognized University/Institution.
- Officer Training Academy (OTA): Bachelor Degree in any stream from a recognized University/Institution.

- Height: 162.5 cms
- Leg Length: 99 cms (Minimum), 120 cms (Maximum)
- Thigh Length: 64 Cms (Maximum)
- Sitting Height: 81.5 Cms (Minimum), 96 cms (Maximum)

Written Examination Pattern:
- OTA Applicants: 200 Marks Paper based on MCQ Pattern comprising of English and General Knowledge topics.
- All Other Applicants: 300 Marks Paper based on MCQ Pattern comprising of English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics.
