- Passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any government-recognized school/board.
- Music Ability: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in music, including accuracy in tempo and pitch, and the ability to sing a complete song. They should also be able to perform a preparatory tune and read any of the following notations: Staff notation, Tablature, Tonic Solfa, Hindustani, or Carnatic. Candidates playing instruments must be able to tune their instrument (if applicable) and match unknown notes vocally or instrumentally. Proficiency in playing at least one instrument is required.
- Musical Experience Certificate:
- Grade 5th or equivalent or above in one instrument from a recognized music institute (e.g., TCL, RSM, KM Music Conservatory, Bangalore School of Music, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music).
- Diploma or equivalent in music (Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music) from a recognized university.
- Certificate of participation/awards from various events (especially for candidates playing wind instruments with staff notation).

Physical Eligibility Details
- Height:
- Male candidates: Minimum 162 cms.
- Female candidates: Minimum 152 cms. A lower minimum height of 147 cms will be accepted for candidates from the North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand. For candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height is 150 cms.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per IAF standards.
- Chest:
- Male Candidates: Well-proportioned and well-developed chest wall. Minimum chest circumference of 77 cms and expansion of at least 5 cms.
- Female candidates: Well-proportioned and well-developed chest wall with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.
- Hearing: Normal hearing (able to hear a forced whisper from 6 meters in each ear).
- Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
- Visual Standards: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye; Maximum refractive error: Hypermetropia: +2.0D, Myopia: -1D, including ± 0.50 D Astigmatism. Colour vision: CP-II.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
- Male Candidates: 1.6 km run within 7 minutes; 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats.
- Female Candidates: 1.6 km run within 8 minutes; 10 sit-ups and 15 squats.
