TN Polytechnic Admission 2024
The DoTE of Tamil Nadu has opened the window for registration for Diploma course admissions in 57 Government Autonomous Polytechnic colleges of the state. The total intake for the first year in the TN Polytechnic Diploma Admissions is 19530.
According to the 2024 notification, the seats in the Diploma Course are offered to students in the following categories:
- Seats in Regular Diploma Course
- Seats in Sandwich course
Candidates who wish to study polytechnic in government colleges should register online or offline before the deadline of 20 May 2024.
The selection of the applicants is purely based on merit and their scores in qualifying examinations for the regular courses. In sandwich courses, 50% of seats will be allotted on a merit-based basis and the remaining 50% will be allotted to eligible candidates sponsored by the approved institutes.

Eligibility for the TN Polytechnic Admission 2024
Candidates can check their eligibility for the 2024 TN Polytechnic Colleges admissions from the following eligibility criteria:
Nativity:
- Applicants who belong to Tamil Nadu and hold the Domicile certificate can apply for admission. However, there are following exceptions in this eligibility
- Candidates who have studied in Tamil Nadu till Class VI do not need a domicile certificate.
- Children whose parents are central government employees serving in Tamil Nadu for the past five years.
- Candidates whose parents have been working in Private public, or government institutions of Tamil Nadu for five years at the time of admission.
Age Limit:
- There is no age limit to apply for the 2024 TN Polytechnic admissions.
Qualifying Examination:
- The qualifying examination for admission is CLass 10th (SSLC) or any other equivalent course from a recognized institution or board.
- Applicants who have passed the 2 years vocational training (ITI) in any branch of Engineering and Technology can also apply for admission.
Documents Required for the TN Polytechnic Admission 2024
The candidates would need the following documents in hand when they apply for the 2024 TN Polytechnic Admissions:
- SSLC Mark sheet
- Passport size photograph
- Special reservation Certificate (if applicable)
- Permanent Community Certificate (if applicable)

Candidates can register for the 2024 TN Polytechnic admissions at various Government Polytechnic colleges in the following steps:
- Go to the official website of Tamil Nadu DoTE at tnpoly.in/.
- Next, navigate to Admissions and Click on Polytechnic Colleges. You will be directed to the TN DoTE portal for admissions to Polytechnic Colleges.
- Next, click on the “Lateral Entry” tab.
- On the next page, if this is your first time registering, then click on New Registration and enter all the required details such as Email ID, Mobile number, and password to generate a password. If you have already generated a password before, enter your email ID and password to login to the portal.
- After logging in you can access the application form for the 2024 admissions.
- Now, enter all the required details on the application form carefully and review it before clicking on Save & next.
- Next, upload scanned copies of all the necessary documents in the instructed format.
- Now, pay the application fee through your preferred method to complete the application process.
- Once the transaction is successful, you will receive an acknowledgment message of the successful application of 2024 TN admissions.
